Founded in 2003 by Cameron Cavers, Reactionlab is a small interactive studio with big experience.
Hailing from the Canadian prairies, Cameron started his professional design career in Japan as a “digital creator” in a small new media studio. There, he was able to explore working in a variety of media, including 3d computer graphics, television and video work, web, magazine layouts, and other print and interactive projects.
In order to be closer to the burgeoning Internet startup market in North America, he decided to “temporarily” relocate back to Canada, putting down roots in Vancouver in late 2001. There, he found work with a firm with connections to Japan, and through this position he was able to gain experience work on projects for leading multinational firms in sectors such as business machines, the automobile industry, and health care and biotech/pharmaceutical research.
Striking out on his own to form Reactionlab in 2003, Cameron continued to work primarily as a contractor on a variety of projects both in Canada and Japan, for everyone from small businesses to Fortune 100 multinationals. Our present client focus is a mix of small business web projects, providing contract interactive development and consulting services to design studios, and part-time long term front-end/UX development contracting for a handful of regular clients.
Cameron also teaches interactive software applications courses at Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Graphic Design for Marketing (GDMA) degree program on a part-time basis, and is involved in speaking, organizing, and volunteering with various design and IT industry conferences and events.
